Devonport

Client design

This Beautiful site perched atop a cliff looking back toward the city demanded a building that would maximise the views but also showcase the owners art collection.

Inspired by the Kaufmann house and similarly incorporating a pool, no expense was spared in the quality of the materials.

The cladding is very durable Accoya weatherboard to withstand the elements on this exposed site.

Inside , premium grade birch ply ceilings and vertical timber panelling are complemented by terazzo floor tiles. This satisfied the clients brief of "no plasterboard"

Building features: portal steel structure, accoya cladding , terrazo tiles, marble , feature stairwell, plywood linings throughout, minimalist detailing.
